- Chunkah at the Cary Cultural Festival
Do you like to dance? Come dance with the stars of the Jewish Academy as we join the Jewish community in celebrating Chanukah at the upcoming Cary Cultural Festival on December 20th at the New Cary Art Center from 4-9 PM. In addition to all the music, food and fun that the festival will feature, the Jewish Academy will be showcasing a Chanukah themed dance machine and will be presenting an olive press demonstration to show children how olive oil was made years ago in an exciting and hands on manner. So get your dancing shoes on and see you there!
- Hand to Hand Chanukah Craft Kits
In celebration of the upcoming holiday of Chanuka, our students are teaming up with the three and four year old classes at the TBO Preschool and Hillel Preschool working together to create “Hand to Hand Chanukah Craft Kits” which will be given to sick children spending their holidays in local hospitals. Our students understand that these handmade menorahs will help to brighten the holidays for the children who could not celebrate at home.
- Thanksgiving Lunch
The Jewish Academy would like to thank our parents, staff, and volunteers who joined our Thanksgiving lunch. The children worked hard to create a beautiful meal, and we are so thankful for the parents, staff, volunteers and grandparents who came to join in our celebration! View the photos of this event.

- November 10, 2011:
We are excited to have launched a ten day mitzvah project, which began this past Monday, November 7th, in honor of Thanksgiving. Our students will be looking to do extra chores around the house to earn change. On November 17th, we will collect and add up all that we have collected, and our class we will go to the local Kroger to buy food, which will be donated to the Jewish Family Services for a family in need. You are welcome to send in canned good as well (please make sure it has a kosher symbol). Please encourage your child to participate, as this is a beautiful, hands-on way for our children to learn about giving to those less fortunate than us.
JAWC would like to extend our thanks to our parents, staff, and volunteers for the hours of help that you have contributed in various capacities towards the betterment of our school. In appreciation, we would like to invite you to join our Thanksgiving lunch on November 22nd, at 12:00 PM at the school. Your presence will mean a lot to us! Please RSVP by emailing info@myjewishacademy.org or calling the school office by November 16th, as we will be purchasing the meal items during our trip to Kroger.
