Rabbi Lev Cotlar
Rabbi Lev Cotlar is a native of Houston, Texas. He received Rabbinic
ordination after advanced Judaic studies in London, Israel, and Italy.
With a love for both travelling and for connecting with others, he has taught both children and adults in places as varied as Glasgow, Johannesburg, Toronto, and Brooklyn. For six years he was a successful teacher of non-mainstream middle school children in Brooklyn. He also served a three year tenure as the Director of Education for the Chabad Student Center of Columbia University. Since moving to Raleigh with his wife (and now daughter) in August of 2010, he has become the Director of the Jewish Academy.
When he’s not involved with the Academy, Lev enjoys sports, traveling, studying and lecturing on Talmud and Kabbala, and spending time with family and friends.
