Active Learning

The Jewish Academy is always striving to advance in our academics.

This year we are proud to have joined the MAP (Measuring Academic Progress) program to help us in our quest for creating an individualized learning plan for each student. The MAP Program was created by educators for educators and the MAP assessments provide detailed, actionable data about where each child is on their unique learning path. Since student engagement is essential to any testing experience, this program was created by educators to create test items that interest children and help to capture detail about what they know and what they’re ready to learn. It provides information that teachers can use in the classroom to help each student in every area of academic development.

Understanding each student’s academic level gives teachers the power to help their students excel according to his or her individual strengths and challenges. The MAP program has given Jewish Academy staff the ability to provide our students with specific individualized learning plans. It has helped us establish a more detailed timeline of goals for each child based on their abilities.
