Jewish Day School Education in Raleigh

Jewish day school education has been a part of the Raleigh-Cary Jewish community since 1981. For more than 25 years, children have benefited from the unique experience that only day school education can provide. Our students and their families reflect our Jewish community, with differing levels of Jewish observance, different synagogue affiliations, and different backgrounds – but with a shared understanding of the value and beauty of day school education.

Our Philosophy

The Jewish Academy of Wake County is committed to serving the educational needs of the entire Jewish community. To this end we focus on the timeless values that Judaism emphasizes.

Academic Rigor

We expect our students to meet and exceed the North Carolina Public School curriculum standards as well as the Wake County standards. Through small class sizes, individual attention and committed teachers we provide a first-rate educational experience. Our teachers create an environment where each child is motivated to become a life-long learner.

Active Nurturing

The care and focus that we provide to each student creates a warm environment where children are motivated to succeed. However, active nurturing is more than love and care for each child. Active nurturing includes the acceptance shown each family as we work as a team to educate our children. Respect for each family’s level of observance and lifestyle is a key element of the warm family-like feel that we foster. Active nurturing is also recognized by our persistence in tailoring our curriculum to meet individual learning styles.

Jewish Life Studies

The Jewish Academy of Wake County provides an excellent secular education in a Jewish environment for grades K-5 The Judaic curriculum is focused on developing children who are proud of their Jewish identity and love being Jewish. Our curriculum stresses the ideas and values that all Jews have in common, including an understanding of the holidays, customs and heritage of Judaism. We expose students to the rich and deep study of Jewish texts and reinforce their love of being Jewish by providing joyful and meaningful experiences. We are committed to teaching students Modern Hebrew which will help them form a lasting connection with the people of Israel and Israeli culture.
